VALENTINIAN II (A.D. 375-392), gold solidus, Treveri mint, issued 375-378, obv. pearl diademed draped and cuirassed small bust to right of ValentinianIi, around DN VALENTINIANVS IVN P F AVG, rev. two emperors, seated facing, together holding globe, behind and between them the upper portion of a Victory with outspread wings, below between them a palm-branch, around VICTOR IA AVGG, in exergue TROBC, (RIC 39e, cf.S.4147). Edge knock below bust, and possibly has been mounted, otherwise very fine and rare.
