EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I, (323-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.79 grams), issued c. 310-305 B.C., obv. head of Alexander wearing elephant headdress to right, rev. **ALEXANDROU* on left, Athena Alkidemos to right with spear and shield, **DI* to left, eagle to right, helmet to right above, (S.7750, Sv.169, BMC 26, Zervos, The Alexander Mint of Egypt, Group 31 [p.136-7, SNG Lockett 3390). Grey attractive tone, extremely fine and very rare in this condition.
