MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, "Amphipolis IV" mint, issued c.315/4-295/4 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, dotted border, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to right, **L* over torch below, ME monogram on right, above **FILIPP OU*, dotted border, (cf.S.6683, Le Rider p.125 and Pl.47, 22, but different dies, M.39). In high relief, off centred obverse otherwise very fine and rare.
The coin is housed in a container and packaged in a wooden box and sold by the Franklin Mint as an authentic ancient coin (text in English and Japanese).
