Victory Medal 1914-19 to WIA Gallipoli. 1597 Pte. W.Neil 14Bn. A.I.F. Impressed. Missing suspension loop and ribbon, nearly extremely fine.

Together with 44mm bronze disc impressed on one side with number 446. 1597 Pte William Neil, age 31, labourer of Surry Hills, Sydney, NSW; Enl.05Sep1914 into 14 Bn; Emb.25Feb1915; 22Aug1915 GSW left thigh at Gallipoli; 03Mar1916 TOS 46Bn and new service number 1705 allotted; 03Jul1917 GSW right thigh and jaw; during his service oveseas, Pte Neil was continuously in trouble and was court martialled on several occasions, found guilty and sentenced to various terms of imprisonment with hard labour, the longest being two years but most were remitted to time served awaiting trial or other lesser terms; RTA 25Sep1919; Disch.25Dec1919.
