VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issue of A.D. 70-71, (3.44 grams), obv. IMP CAES VESP AVG PM, laureate head to right, rev. AVGVR TRI POT, simpulum, 'aspergillum', jug and lituus, (S.2281, RIC 29, RSC 42). Traces of hoard patination, toned with golden highlights, very fine.
