C.CASSIUS Longinus (died 42 B.C.), denarius, issued 43-2 B.C., mint travelling with Cassius and Brutus in the East (probably Smyrna), (4.03 grams) obv. diademed head of Libertas to right, around, C CASSI IMP behind, LEIBERTAS, dotted border, rev. jug and lituus, below LENTVLVS SPINT, dotted border, (S.1447, Cr.500/1, Syd.1308, RSC 4). Off centre on obverse, otherwise toned with attractive golden highlights, extremely fine and rare.
