Edgar Newell Bound, grocer's assistant, born 10Feb1895 at Shanklin, Isle of Wight; joined RN 10Feb1913 for 12 years engagement; rated Boy Telegrapher Jan1912, Telegrapher Nov1913 and Leading Telegrapher Aug1916; was serving on HMS Bostonian, a commissioned escort ship, when she was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine off Start Point, Devon on 10Oct1917; rated Petty Officer Telegrapher in Jun1921; Disch.15Jun1922 on reduction of Royal Navy.
