A.I.F. on fourth medal, 667 WO.2 P.Penfold. 2 Bn. A.I.F. on last medal. All medals impressed. Ribbons frayed and first two medals with contact marks, otherwise very fine.
Together with King's Silver War badge with reverse numbered A67655; Returned from Active Service badge WWI (AIF) with reverse numbered 102722 (very worn condition); Female Relative's badge WWII with number AF20039 on reverse.
Percy Penfold, fitter, born at Sandhurst, Berkshire County, England, served in Boer War with Army Ordnance Corps; WWI, Enl.27Aug1914 at age 36 and to 2nd Bn; Emb.18Oct1914; L/Cpl 11Nov1914; Cpl 02May1915 at Gallipoli; Sgt 07May1915; CSM 22Jun1915 at Anzac; CQMS 14Feb1916; 16Feb1916 to 54 Bn; WOII 17Jul1916; placed on Syphilis Register 08Sep1917, contracted at Salisbury, given all clear 30Oct1917; WIA 24Apr1918 gassing at France; RTA 03Dec1918; Disch28Mar1919.
