L. MARCIUS PHILIPPUS, (c.56 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.942 grams), obv. Ancus Marcius head to right, ANCV[S] and lituus below and to left, dotted border, rev. PHILIPPVS behind equestrian statue to right on an arcade of five arches, within A Q V A MAR, flower below horse, (S.382 [£60 VF], Cr.425/1, Syd.919a, B.Marcia 29 [£60]). Slightly off centred on obverse, good very fine/nearly extremely fine, with some original mint bloom, very scarce.
