Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochus VIII Grypos, (121/0-97/6 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.55 g), Phoenician standard, Ptolemais (Ake) mint, issued year 193 = 120-119 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus VIII to right within dotted border, rev. eagle standing to left on thunderbolt, M to left, **G*qP to right (date), around **BASILEWS ANTIOCOU*, (S.7094, LSM 24, SC 2337.2, HGC 9, 1202 [RR]). Toned, well centred, very fine/nearly very fine and very rare.

Ex Patrick Cooper Collection, from CNG Triton VI, January 14-15, 2003 (lot 1565 part), bought privately for £105 in January 1988 with ticket marked £175, lot with tickets.
CNG sold a similar example 12 Sept. 2007, VF, Mail Bid Sale 76 (lot 3098) for $1700US only 2 examples in Coin Archives.
