ROMANUS IV DIOGENES, (1068-1071 A.D.), silver 1/3 miliaresion, 15mm, (O.63 g), Constantinople mint, obv. half-length bust of the Theotokos (Mary), orans, rev. crowned half-length bust of Romanus facing, holding patriarchal cross and globus cruciger, (S.1865a, DOC 7). Fine, toned, pierced, wavy flan, small edge chip and very rare.
