ITALY, Bruttium, Lokroi Epizephyrioi, (c.375-330 BC), silver nomoi or tridrachm, (7.63 g), obv. laureate head of Zeus right, thunderbolt behind, rev. eagle standing left, grasping dead hare in talons, around L O K P [W N]*, (S.486, HN Italy 2327, SNG ANS 519, McClean 1801, Dewing 523, HGC 1, 1565 [R1]). Attractive patination and of very attractive style, good very fine and very rare, trace of overstriking with a profile visible under the eagle's wing, (perhaps a Corinthian type stater CNG suggestion).
