CONSTANS II, (A.D. 641-668), gold solidus, Constantinople Mint, issued 641-646/7, (4.17 g), 10th officina, obv. bust facing of Constans beardless, wearing chlamys and crown, around dN CONStAN TINUS PP AV, rev. cross potent on base and three steps, below CONOBC, around VICTORIA AVGU I, (S.939, DOC 2 variety [Officina], MIB 6, cf.BMC 6-8). Well centred, extremely fine with some mint bloom, very scarce.
