WWI, IDENTITY DISC, hand engraved on the smoothed out reverse of a silver Egypt (as a British Protectorate) twenty piastres and with the ascension date of 1333 (1914AD), with fitted scroll mount, reverse inscribed '.43717./Tpr J.H.Blair/W.M.R/.Palestine.' Toned very fine.

43717 Tpr James Hunter Blair, 28th Reinforcements, Mounted Rifles, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 6 March 1917. Blair was hospitalised in Cairo, Egypt with malaria from 26 November to 22 December 1918. He died in Auckland 16 October 1933.
