WWI, PRESENTATION VESTA IN SILVER, hallmarked for London 1916 by maker G&S.Co.Ld. (Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd), with ring suspension at one side, inscribed on one side 'Marama Orchestra/1917'. With dents, otherwise fine.

The SS Marama was a merchant ship belonging to the Union Steam Ship Company and was converted to a hospital ship, HMNZ Marama, for use by New Zealand during WWI. The ship's staff had an orchestra, the Marama Orchestra, for giving concerts on board ship.
