MACEDON, Kingdom of, Perdikkas III, (365-359 B.C.), AE 16, tetrachalkon, (3.33 g), Aigai Mint, obv. head of Herakles in lion skin to right, rev. lion standing right, breaking a javelin with its jaws, above **PERDIK*, (S.1515, Westermark, Kraay-Morkholm Essay, Remarks 47, SNG ANS 114, BMC 3, HGC 3, 839 [R]). Dark patination, obverse double struck, nearly very fine/good very fine and rare.

Ex Spink & Son London, 1997. With collector's descriptive ticket. January 13-14, 2004 (lot 1327 part) for second and third coins, first from the Wayne Woolmer Collection.
