PELOPONNESOS, Argolis, Argos, silver triobol, (490/480's - 470's B.C.), (2.78 g), obv. forepart of wolf to left, legs parallel to body, eight dots at back of neck, rev. A, cross bar horizontal, in shallow incuse square, in upper part two relatively shallow square incuses in the upper part, (cf.S.2663, BCD 1006. [p.252, LHS 96], Traite I, -, cf.BMC 3 variety [p.136], HGC 5, 660 [R2]). Very fine and very rare.

Ex BCD Collection, from JBV May 1986 for 2250 FF, lot includes collector and tickets from BCD etc.
