ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (272-235 B.C.), silver stater, (6.460 grams), obv. warrior in crested helmet, holding shield, on stationary horse to left, EY+ to left, below **ARI STWN*, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding trident and hippocamp, below T APA**S* letters, to right **IWN* (S.376, Vl.930 [This Coin], cf.SNG ANS 1239). Toned, well centred obverse, extremely fine and scarce type.
