MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), gold stater, (8.56 g), Arados Mint, issued c.325/4-324/3 B.C. under Menes, obv. head of Athena to right in crested Corinthian helmet, rev. Nike standing to left, holding wreath in outstretched hand, AP monogram below left wing, **ALEXANDPO[U]*, (cf.S.6702, Price 3422 (Byblos). A few marks, very fine with underlying lustre.
