JULIUS CAESAR, (assasinated 44 B.C.), silver denarius (3.74g), military mint moving with Caesar, issued 49-8 B.C., obv. elephant to right trampling on serpent, CAESAR in exergue, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat, (S.1399, Cr.443/1, Syd.1006, Julius Caesar 49). Well centred, toned, nearly very fine and very scarce.
