REPUBLIC, Sextus Pompey (Younger son of Pompey the Great), (42-40 B.C.), silver denarius, (3.77 grams), Sicilian mint, obv. Pompey the great head to right, between capis and lituus, around MAG PIVS IMP ITER, rev. Neptune to left, foot on prow, between the brothers Anapias and Amphinomus, with parents on their shoulders, below [CL]AS ET O[RAE], below [MARIT EX SC], (S.345; Cr.511/3a, Syd.1344). Attractive toned coin, with good obverse centring, very fine/good very fine and very scarce.

This coinage was struck by Sextus Pompey after the victory over Salvidienus and relates to his acclamation as the 'son of Neptune', whilst the representation of the Catanaean brothers may either refer to the title Pius or show that the coins were struck at Catana.
