ITALY, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (c.350 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.43 grams), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with figure of Scylla, rev. bull butting to right, traces of **QOURIWN*, HP monogram above, tunny fish below in exergue, with dotted exergual line, (cf.S.442; SNG ANS 1041 [similar dies]). Bright, some corrosion on the reverse and on portion of the edge, otherwise very fine and rare.
