THORNTHWAITE, J.C., Sydney halfpenny, 1854 (A.583) 'medallisit' spelling. Collector's ink no 243 on obverse otherwise dark brown patina, good very fine and rare.

Ex K. Frost (lot 486) Collection, Stern sale October 1977 and Strathburn (lot 289I) Collection. The die was recut (or re'punched) to include a second I in medallist causing the first I to be over an S and the second I to be the original T.
