MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, issued 170, Rome mint, (3.50 g), obv. M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXIII, around laureate head to right, rev. SALVTI AVG COS III in exergue, Salus standing to left feeding snake entwined around altar, and holding sceptre, (cf.S.4927, RIC 207, BMC 494, RSC 543). Lightly toned, extremely fine and rare thus.
