SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Emesa mint, issued A.D. 194, (2.718 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around [IMP CAE L SEP] SEV PERT AVG COS II, rev. around [INVICT]O AVG, trophy with captured arms below, (S.6288, RIC 389, RSC 232). Off centred flan, extremely fine and very scarce.

Ex Marc Melcher Collection. 34 examples in Reka Devnia Hoard, which contained 7256 Septimius Severus denarii.
