MACEDONIAN KINGDOM, Philip II, AE 17, (Single unit), (359-336 B.C.), uncertain Mint in Macedon issue to 323/2-315 B.C., (4.93 g), obv. Head of Apollo with hair short bound with plain tainia to right, dotted border, rev. Naked youth on horse prancing to right, on short exergue line, **FILIPPOU* above, VE monogram below horse, (cf.S.6696 var., SNG ANS 842-3 [Pl.32], cf.Drama Hoard [ANSMN 11] No-, cf.SNG Greece II (Alpha Bank) 374). Dark green patination, extremely fine and very attractive.
