MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.13 g), Amphipolis mint, issued c.325 - 323/2 B.C., struck by Antipater, obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, TE (reverssed monogram to left, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 84, BMC 84a (same reversed die), Troxell Studies E5, M.-). Minor abrassion on reverse, otherwise good very fine and very scarce.
