THRACE, Pautalia, Caracalla, (A.D. 198-217), AE 30, 15.32 g), obv. laureate head to right, around AVT K M CE [ANT**W*NINOC], rev. city view, acropolis surmounted by main civic temple, four temples around, figure in grotto to upper left, statuary group of three nymphs to lower right, around [OY**LPI]*AC **PAU, TAL*IAC in exergue, (S.-, Ruzicka 713 var. (obv. legend), Varbanov 5256-7 var. (same, both R7). Fine, weak in places, a very rare type.
