ANCIENT BRITISH, Southern Region, Belgae, Uninscribed coins, Cheriton Smiler type, (c.55-54 B.C.), gold stater, (5.14 g), obv. horizontal wreath motif with outward facing leaves, three parallel cabled lines, rev. disjointed horse to left with elongated neck, crab and two pellets below, (S.24, ABC 755 var, Van A 1215, BMC 86-87, M 33). Deep cuprous gold, bold 'smile', good very fine and rare.
