OCTAVIAN, (30-29 B.C.), silver denarius, uncertain Italian mint (probably Brundisium, maybe Rome), (3.81 g), obv. Octavian head bare to right, in linear circle, rev. IMP CAESAR on architrave of arch, surmounted by facing quadriga bearing Octavian, (S.1558, RIC 267, RSC 123, BMC 624). Banker's mark on the obverse, slightly off centred, otherwise very fine and rare.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from M.R.Roberts retail sale in packet described.
Celebrates Octavian's victory at Actium.
