AQUILIA SEVERA (SECOND WIFE OF ELAGABALUS), (A.D. 221), silver denarius, (1.86 g), obv. draped bust of Aquilia Severa to right, around IVLIA AQVILIA SEVERA AVG, rev. Concordia standing to left sacrificing over lighted altar and holding double cornucopiae, star in left field, around CONCORDIA, (S.7679, RIC 226, RSC.2, BMC 184). Light in weight, some mint bloom, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 106 (lot 3548).
The Reka-Devnia (Marcianopolis) Hoard contained 81,044 silver coins including only 71 coins of this empress, mostly of this variety.
