BALBINUS, (238 A.D.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (2.78 g), obv. Laureate bust of Balbinus draped and cuirassed to right, seen from the front, IMP C D CAEL BALBINVS AVG around, rev. PROVIDENTIA DEORVM around, Providentia standing facing with head to left, holding wand over globe in right hand, and cornucopiae in left hand, (S.8490, RIC 7, BMC 33, C.23). Nearly extremely fine, rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 107 (lot 3851) and also coming from an old Hungarian collection.
