AEMILIAN, (A.D. 253), base silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 253, (3.20 g), obv. Aemilian radiate bust to right, around IMP AEMILIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. MARTI PACIF around, Mars advancing left, extending olive-branch and holding spear and shield, (S.9836, RIC 5b, RSC 22). Toned, good very fine and rare.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3884) and the D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Sale 45 (lot 1951) the Richard A. Williams Collection, previously from Spink Australia Sale 34 (lot 2027).
