LAELIANUS, (A.D. 268), billon antoninianus, Mainz or Trier mint, (3.06 g), obv. radiate and cuirassed bust of Laelianus to right, around IMP C LAELIANVS P F AVG, rev. around VICTORIA AVG, Victory advancing to right, holding wreath and palm, (S.11111, RIC 9, C.4). Well centred obverse and reverse, some minor obverse pitting, otherwise good very fine or better and very rare.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and coming from Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3893) and the D.J. Foster Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 45 (lot 2328).
Gilljam reports less than 200 known specimens of this emperor, in his detailed study of the series on all the reported specimens.
