Syria, Kingdom of, Demetrios I (162-150 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.22 gm), Antioch mint, date probably year 161 (152/1 BC), obv. diademed head right, rev. **BASILEWS DHMHTRIOU SWTHROS*, cornucopiae, monograms above uncertain (date) to inner right, (S.7019, cf.SNG Spaer 1285, SMA 126, Houghton 16, HGC 9, 806); together with Antiochos IX Eusebes Philopator (Kyzikenos), (114/3-95 B.C.), silver drachm (2.97 g), Tarsos mint, first reign, (114/3-c.112 B.C.), obv. diademed head right, fillet border, rev. Sandan standing right, wearing polos, bow and quiver over his shoulder, holding labrys and flower, on the back of horned lion-griffin right; to outer left, monograms to left, (S.7167, cf.SC 2351; HGC 9, 1238 [R2]). First coin fine, second very fine with piece broken off on edge, both with descriptive tickets, both rare. (2)
