Commodus as a priest, ploughing behind a team of two oxen, S-C across fields, (S.-, RIC 570, Cohen 40); another, Rome mint, (7.68 g), struck 191, obv. laureate head right, rev. Commodus as Hercules, standing facing left, holding cornucopiae and sacrificing out of a patera over an altar, lion's skin hanging from a tree, (S.5863, BMCRE 677, RIC 591, Cohen 178); Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 210, (11.89 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, rev. Roma seated to right holding palladium and spear, before her a kneeling captive, (cf.S.6473, RIC 804, C.551-2) (illustrated). Toned, nearly very fine - very fine and scarce. (3)
