GROUP OF EIGHT: Order of St Michael & St George (CMG); Order of the British Empire (CBE Military); India General Service Medal - bar Kachin Hills 1892-93; 1914 Star - bar - 5th Aug-22 Nov 1914; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal with M.I.D.; Jubilee Medal 1935; Oder of Danilo 2nd Class breast star and neck badge (without swords) in silver and enamel. Lieutt M.N.Turner 1st Bn D of C Lt Infy engraved on India General Service medal, Lt Col M.N.Turner D of Corn L.I. impressed on Star, Brig Gen M.N.Turner impressed on British War medal, Maj Gen M.N.Turner impressed on Victory medal, Jubilee medal unnamed. CBE ring above crown broken off, however still with CBE, very fine.

Brigadier General Martin Newman Turner. CB 1915; CMG 1918; CBE 1920. Late Duke of Cornwall's Infantry and 15th Infantry Brigade BEF. Born 24Jun1865. 2nd Lt DCLI 1890, Lieut Col 1912, Brig.Gen 1915. Served Burma 1892-93 and 1895-96 in operations in the Kachin Hills as Assistant Commandant Military Police - Sana Kachin Expedition (medal and clasp). Adjutant, Upper Burma Volunteer Rifles 1897-1902. Served European War 1914-1918 (M.I.D. 19Oct1914, 15Jun1916 and 04Jan1917). Served in North Russia 1918-1919 (CBE, M.I.D. 03FEB1920). Order of Danilo 2nd Class (Montenegro) 1917. Colonel of the DCLI 1932-1935. Died 23May1944.
