CELTIC, Danube Region, Imitation of Thasos, (c.1st century B.C.), silver tetradrachms, (16.54, 16.46, 14.92 g), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath, rev. Herakles standing facing, head left, holding club and lion's skin, monogram before and mixed letters around, (S.212, Prokopov 682, OTA Class II 4, cf.Lanz 964) (first coin illustrated). Cleaned, fine - good fine. (3)

With collector's descriptions recording their purchase in Romania in the Summer of 1960.
