ANCIENT ROMAN SESTERTII, including Tiberius, (A.D. 14-37), Rome mint, struck in A.D. 34-35, (24.80 g), obv. empty triumphal quadriga to right, no legend, rev. around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST P M TR POT XXVI, S C in centre, (cf.S.1765, RIC 54, BMC 103); another, with divus Augustus, struck A.D. 35-6, (24.77 g), obv. shield inscribed OB / CIVES / SERV, supported by two Capricorns, rev. S C to centre, (S.1783, RIC 63, C.93); Nero Claudius Drusus, (father of Claudius) (died 9 B.C.), posthumous issue struck by Claudius, (A.D. 41-2), (25.15 g), obv. Drusus head to left, rev. Claudius seated left on curule chair with arms around, holding a branch, (S.1897, RIC 109 [Claudius], BMCRE 208-211a, BN 198-203). Toning, some surface pitting, poor - fine and rare. (3)
