GALBA, (A.D. 68-69), AE dupondius, (9.84 g), Rome mint, issued A.D. Aug-Sept 68, obv. laureate bust of Galba to right, around IMP SER GALBA CAES AVG PM TR P, rev. Libertas standing to left, holding pileus and vertical rod, around LIBERTAS PVBLICA, S C across, (cf.S.2134, RIC 366). Dark brown patina, good very fine with a strong portrait, rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection. With a ticket from Bourgey dated 30 January 1958.
