VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 77-78, (10.88 g), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to left, around IMP CAESAR VESPASIAN COS VIII, rev. Spes standing to left, holding flower and raising hem of skirt, S C to sides, (cf.S.2361, RIC 1011, RIC 460). Dark brown patina, very fine or better and scarce.
