OTTOMAN EMPIRE, early to mid 19th century, bichaq dagger shaped like a miniature yataghan, single edge blade is 18cm long, forged from pattern welded steel, the handle and scabbard are covered with silver ornately decorated with a floral pattern, the handle pommel is splayed and has a flap on top for attaching to a chain and the scabbard has an identical flap on its front edge, at the bottom tip of the scabbard is a fish head, total length including scabbard 35.5cm. Blade a little loose in scabbard, otherwise fine.
