HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 134-138, (13.06 g), obv. laureate head of Hadrian to right, around HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, rev. AEGYPTOS around, S C in exergue, Egypt reclining to left, holding sistrum, resting left elbow on basket of fruit or corn, before ibis on a column, (cf.S.3655 dupondius, RIC 839, C.113). Attractive brown toning, good very fine and rare.
