OTTOMAN EMPIRE, mid 19th century, yataghan sword (58cm), mid 19th century, with well forged 58cm blade with impressed maker's mark, fine bone grip with flared ears and around the centre and overlaying onto the blade for a distance of 9cm is an elaborately carved, raised silver decoration, with a very finely chased, heavy silver scabbard, total length including scabbard 81cm. Grips with a few age cracks and good age patina, one solder repair around the diameter of the scabbard, otherwise very fine.
