ITALY, Bruttium, Croton (Kroton), silver stater or nomos, c.520 B.C., (7.89 g), obv. Delphic tripod, with three handles, and legs terminating in lion's feet, with two serpents emerging from the bowl, to left, QPO, rev. incuse Delphic tripod with three handles, and serpents emerging from bowl, (cf.S.255, SNG ANS 227, HN Italy 2075). Slightly ragged flan, nicely toned, good very fine and rare.

Ex CNG 245, lot 13. Previously Classical Numismatic Group 61 (25 September 2002), lot 352.
