ITALY, Bruttium, Caulonia, (c.475-425 B.C.), silver third nomos (2.17 g), obv. Apollo advancing right, holding branch; to right, stag standing right, head reverted, KAV left upwards, rev. stag standing right; laurel branch before, KAV above reversed, (S.464, Noe, Caulonia 212, SNG ANS 217, HN Italy 2047); together with a cast copy of a Lucania, Poseidonia, (5.32 g), obv. Poseidon advancing right, wielding trident overhead, rev. bull standing left on exergual line, ethic retrograde above, (cf.S.424). Fine. (2)
