MACKAY AGRICULTURAL PASTORAL & MINING ASSOCIATION, 1879, in bronze (38mm), by T.S. (T.Stokes), reverse inscribed, 'Angus Bell/For/Open Process/2nd Sugar/1879'. Some edge nicks, otherwise very fine.
The second Mackay Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association show was held at the end of October 1879 at the local racecourse and apart from the horse and sugar sections the number of entries was a bitter disappointment to the organisers. It was decided that no show would be held in 1880 and the next one in 1881 would be held on the Association's own ground which was in the course of being planned. In the 1879 show competition, Sugar Open Process - 2nd, a bronze medal for first place was won by A.Bell. He also won the Sugar Open Process - 3rd, bronze medal for first place.
