MACEDON, kings of, Philip III - Antigonos I Monophthalmos, (c.323-310 B.C.), AE 20, (5.98 g), uncertain mint in Western Asia Minor, obv. head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin, rev. **BASILEWS* across, bow in bowcase above club to right and rare torch below with countermark of lion's head on bow case, (S.6780, Price 2800 var. [with countermark), SNG Cop. 1117, HGC 3, 951[S]). Dark brown patination, good very fine/nearly extremely fine, rare with countermark.

Ex William B. Porter Collection (with his descriptive ticket) from CNG Triton VII, January 13-14, 2004 (lot 1327 part).
