CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 201, Laodicea mint, (2.82 g), obv. laureate, draped bust to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS, rev. two captives seated back to back below military trophy, around PART MAX P O NT TR P IIII, (cf.S.6853, BMC 730, RIC 346 corr. RSC 177a). Well struck, extremely fine, traces of mint bloom with light grey patination, very scarce.
