Colin Frank Williams, clerk, born 20Jan1914 at Semaphore, Sth Aust; Enl.05Sep1940 at Wayville, Sth Aust at rank of Lieutenant (ex 48Bn Militia); Emb.17Nov1940; to Captain 16Apr1941; WIA and missing then reported KIA22Jul1942 at El Alamein; Buried at El Alamein War Cemetery.
Awarded MC LG 24/9/1942, p4155 for his actions on 10 July 1942 in capturing Tell El Eisa Ridge and the capture of several hundred prisoners as well as artillery weapons and other equipment. His company then captured the Tell El Eisa Railway Station. This award with its citation was made after his death.
